Recent Beauty Finds

While I may have been neglecting the blog a little, I surely haven't been neglecting my wallet! Lol.  I have made a few purchases that I am loving so lets begin!

OPI 'Dulce de Leche'

Revlon 'Lacy Lilac'

Aren't these two colors to die for?!  I mean, I don't know how I ever lived without either of these colors! Lol.  I keep using them back and forth because I am so in love with them.  If you don't have these colors in your stash you may want to get them now because I see these being very popular this Spring/Summer.

Taliah Waajid Mist Bodifier

This was actually a by chance find in no other than Target.  But I was actually pretty surprised to see it there as I had never seen this brand in Target before.  Its all over the blogs and the price was decent ($7.99) so I figured I would give it a try being the product junky I am!  Lol.  The consistency is rather thick in the bottle and it even feels rather heavy when sprayed onto the hair.  The day I used this the first time, I was air drying so the heaviness didn't really bother me.  Usually when I air dry, I need extra moisture and oil so my hair doesn't become brittle and dries soft.  I am not sure how happy I would have been with this had I been flat ironing my hair because like I said, it is rather heavy.  It did help some with detangling after I deep conditioned but not as much as I expected.  I can definitely see using this for braid outs or twist outs because of its consistency and it does leave the hair very soft.  In the description, it states that it 'coats' the hair and that it does.  I actually noticed less hair fall out but I couldn't pin point if it was this product or if it was because I had done a protein treatment! Lol.  I say for just $8, its worth a try.

Juicy Couture Dame Striped Bag

This was a clearance find that I just had to have.  Not only is it just absolutely fabulous but its HUGE!  Just what I need for work and personal use.  The inside has lots of compartments and pockets for all my handy dandy pens, glosses and lotions.  Then it has about 3 large sections for the bigger things in life like my notebooks, laptop and such.  I have gotten sooo many compliments and I truly love wearing it.  Its one of those bags you love wearing because you know its just absolutely fabulous.  It might even put a little pep in your step, Lol.

So I think I've covered my most recent buys.  I'm sure there is something I might have missed, in which case I will just come back and edit this post.  What have you guys been up to?  Spring cleaning? Seasonal shopping?  I'm nosey, I wanna know! Lol... Toodles ;-)

Studio Tint... Plus Some

With my skin clearing up from the Clarisonic and masks, I was confident enough to wear no make-up to work yesterday.  That really didn't last long though since I went on my lunch break to the MAC counter at Macy's to check out their Studio Tint.  I've been meaning to try it out since the launch of their additional shades but never really took the time to do so since I still had acne and breakouts.  Anyways,  I tried it and now I love it!!  Now, I will say, at first glance there didn't seem to be a difference.  But my smart MUA did one side of my face at a time so I was able to compare (with and without) and there lied the difference.  It is very sheer so it really won't conceal anything but it will even out the tone.  I mean, when all was said and done, it looked like I had no make-up on but I did!  B-E-A-UTIFUL! Lol.  I was matched up with Dark as my shade and it does appear to be super light as it goes on but it will blend effortlessly.  Also, keep in mind that since it doesn't come in a wide array of colors, one shade can match a range of skintones.  If you are looking for a low coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer then look no further.  Once again MAC has me at hello!  I've included some pics below :-)

I mean seriously, that Clarisonic has been working wonders on my face.  Look at the clarity compared to other pictures I've posted on here in the past few months.  Not to mention, I was having a GREAT hair day today.  I accomplished these waves and swoops with pin curls overnight.

Also, while at the MAC counter I tried out a couple of Cremegloss shades... Partial to Pink and Loud & Lovely.  Partial to Pink was more on the natural side with a hint of pink... very subtle and pretty.  Loud & Lovely was just as its name states! Lol... It a sheer bright pink and I loved it so I will be getting that one at a later time.  In the very top picture, thats what's on my lips (I tested it out!).  So, I know this was a super duper short post but I just wanted to touch bases with you guys about the Studio Tint.  Until next time... Toodles ;-)

NO FOUNDATION TODAY!

Today is my first day EVER not wearing ANY foundation to work!  I have to admit, I was sooo self conscious but decided to just do it.  My skin was looking great from the Clay Mask last night, so I figured why the heck not!  And, I don't think it looks too bad actually.  While, it may not look as polished as I do with foundation, it has a beautiful natural thing about it.  Looks like my skin is certainly preparing for summer well.  I will be running to the MAC counter today to get some Studio Tint.  Its nowhere near as heavy or covers as well as Studio Fix, Studio Sculpt, MUFE Mat Velvet or HD but its just what we need for the spring and summer.  I hate wearing thick maybe in the warmer months.  It just feels like its gonna melt off my face! Lol.  Well I gotta get back to work but I've left you with a pic of my naked face below :-) Toodles.

P.S:  Obviously I did my eyebrows, and applied blush and mascara!  Those are my staples so no matter what, I will wear them ;-)

Face Masks

Staying on the topic of face products, I have been researching the benefits and results of using facial masks.  I've used them in the past when I sold make-up for Meet Mark (Avon) and loved them but then fell off.  Isn't that always the case though?! Lol.  Anyways, I'm not interested in trying out the $45 products and such because I'm just not that intrigued or interested really.  So I googled away and found a couple that kept coming up with high reviews on the blogs.  The first was Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque and the other was Freeman's Purifying Clay Mask.  The funny thing was that of the more expensive masks, the popular ones were either Mint or Clay Masks!  I decided to just buy both masks since they were so inexpensive (approximately $3.50 each).  I plan on using the Freeman Purifying Clay Mask tonight and the Queen Helene Mint Mask on Wednesday, then continuing on that pattern weekly.  I'll be sure to come back and update as soon as I can.  I haven't been purposely neglecting my blog... Just been so busy trying to stay on top of things at the new job.

Have you guys been interested in using Facial Masks?  Do you currently use one that you live by?  If so, which one?  I would love to know about any other masks out there that are fabulous!!

New Toy: Clarisonic

Yes, I was weak and decided to buy a Clarisonic the other week.  My skin has been gradually becoming more and more beautiful from using the African Black Soap but I wanted something else to expedite the process.  Summer is right around the corner and I want to be able to wear little to no makeup.  Currently, I wear MUFE Mat Velvet which is high coverage and quite thick.  Once summer comes, I want to be able to throw on my moisturizer, a little blush, mascara, gloss/lipstick and step out the door.  Yesterday was the first day I wore no foundation and felt I looked just as beautiful as when I wear my foundation!  It might sound petty but I have a lot of acne scarring on my face and I don't want people staring at that when I'm talking to them so I cover it up with foundation.  Don't act like you've never come across someone with unfortunately bad acne or spots on their face and you couldn't help but direct your attention to that than to what they were talking about.  It happens... Its normal.

After ordering my Clarisonic, I noticed a difference in how soft the skin on my face felt just after the first use.  After about the 3rd or 4th use, I noticed a difference in brightness and how healthy it looked.  In the evening, I use my Clarisonic along with Philosophy's Purity to remove my makeup and give my face a good cleansing.  In the morning, I use my African Black Soap because it restores moisture to my skin that is necessary throughout the day.  I have used the Clarisonic in the evening, as well as the morning before but its not an everyday thing.  I gauge how my skin feels and if it needs it both times of the day.  The more I use the Clarisonic, the less I need to use it any more than 1 time a day.  I can't wait to see the effects after a few weeks if I already starting seeing results after just a few days!  I will keep you guys posted though :-)  Toodles.

Revamping My Wardrobe

clothes closet

As you know, I recently started a new job and as most women do, I wanted to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe.  Unfortunately, my bank account did not allow for that.  So for the first few days I wore old work clothes that I had but really didn't feel like I fit in.  To be honest, I felt I was dressed more like an admin which makes sense since my previous position was an administrative assistant.  So, I went out over the weekend and bought a few pieces to bring my current wardrobe to a new level.  I have a lot of really nice pieces for work already, they just needed a little sprucing up.  Everyday this week, I've attempted to take pictures of what I had on so I could show you.

Above was Monday's outfit.  The shirt was $11.99 on sale at the Gap and the skirt was on sale at Express for $34.99.  The shoes I already had in my closet.

The above pictures were Tuesday's outfit.  The sweater I found at the Gap on clearance for $11.99.  Everything else I already had in my wardrobe including the shoes ;-)

The above was absolutely one of my favorites!  The dress was a Cynthia Rowley find at Marshalls that is freaking adorable.  You can't see but it has a bold gold zipper going down the back up until about the tailbone.  Since, it is a sleeveless dress I paired it with a blazer I already had (from Express) and some Jessica Simpson booties I also had my in closet already.

The above picture is from today!  I didn't wear green so shoot me!  But, I really adore this outfit as well.  The outfit was comprised of most new items.  The dress was an Ann Taylor Loft find for $44.99, the belt also from the Loft was $24.99 (a little pricey I know but I loved how it worked with the dress) and the sweater was a clearance find at the Gap for $9.99.  The boots I thought of last minute and I love how it looks and my feet get a rest from heels for once!  Initially, I wasn't going to wear this outfit until I found matching pumps but I am so glad I didn't have spend more money!

Revamping your wardrobe is sometimes very easy and other times it can be rather irritating.  You really have to know what style you trying to attain and stick with it.  If you mostly have gym attire or club clothes and you're trying to revamp to office attire then yes you will be spending quite a bit of money.  But don't throw those white tees to the side.  Think about wearing them under a blazer or sweater.  You really have to think outside the box when you are on a budget.  The goal is to not break the bank.  No point in working if every check is being spent on more work clothes!

I'm trying to bring more color into my wardrobe for spring and summer but dark colors are always my go-to.  Do you guys have any favorite stores you shop for a good deal when you need a little sprucing up?!

I've Been M.I.A!

I know I have been so neglectful on my blog here and I truly apologize!  I never thought about how I would manage the balance of working, being a mother, a wife and my blog!  I still haven't even figured it out because I've been too busy to sit down and think about it for a second.  While I do get off at 5:00 pm EST and on time daily, I am rushing to pick up my older two children from their after school program.  Then twice out the week, we go from the after school program to swim lessons at our local YMCA.  By the time we get home its 7:00 pm EST and I am so tired!  But dinner must still be made, baths must be had and homework must be checked!  Since, I am very new at my job and learning a bunch of new software, I bring home different things to go over so that I can become acclimated quicker.  It has truly been a tiring experience but I am so loving every minute of it.

So, with all that being said I promise I will find a good balance VERY soon... Just give me a little more time :-)  Thanks for being patient... Love you dolls!
